Multiple items have dual purposes. Most tools can be used as weapons in a pinch, and vice versa, however won't be as damaging as the designated weapons. Items vary on how effective they are for each task. Using the wrong tool will decrease the players at a faster rate. For a list of every available ammunition, look at this.

7 Days To Die The following weapons are seen in the video game 7 Days To Die. NOTE: You can either find the weapons in loot containers (airdrops and zombies included), except for the '44 Magnum' and 'AK47', or find the weapons' parts and assemble them, as long as you had found a specific book/manual.

You could have near end-game gear before your second horde night. It adds purpose to looting but it unfortunately removes purpose from crafting.I have yet to craft any weapon or armor piece from the dozens I've had to dismantle to make them, that is any better than anything I've found or bought. It's not difficult to craft weapons or armor, it is literally impossible to do so without massive time investment in looting - which just nets you something better anyway.

This is not a good system. Originally posted by:But it adds purpose to looting. To getting out and doing something other than spam crating easy high-end gear.It should be difficult to get the best weapon or armor. Previously it was way too simple and easy.

You could have near end-game gear before your second horde night. It adds purpose to looting but it unfortunately removes purpose from crafting weapons.Fixed that for you.But seriously, IMO crafting weapons is more of an emergency measure when your RNG sucks. The goal of the game is survival and all the other types of crafting are still useful (even armor crafting up to apoint). You can craft very useful tools using basic materials if you're also perking into mining. You can craft several types of clothing (+ pockets) once you find the right books.

Everything BUT weapons is very easy and useful to craft. And here I am extremely happy with my 2 Q5 Junk Turrets I crafted that have significantly more damage and ammo than the 3 Q6 Junk Turrets I've found. Everything BUT weapons is very easy and useful to craft. You cannot craft steel tools without finding steel tools to dismantle.Likewise steel armor and military armor.By the time you get the materials to make Q5 iron armor or tools, you already very likely have found better. There is no reason to craft most equipment unless your RNG is godawful. Yeah, other than putting skillpoints into areas that are necessary to craft some vital things, I don't even bother skilling anything up higher than necessary to craft higher quality tools/weapons/armor since looted stuff, especially w/ the Lucky Looter perk, is much better. Even more so now since you can't even craft T6 stuff now.If anything T6 should be craft only and looted stuff maxes out at T5. The sheer skillpoint investment to craft higher quality stuff should be rewarded. But as it stands, you feel penalized for it.

Feels like TFP have it backwards.Sure, in real life, finding items that were factory created before the apocalypse would be better than crap you can hobble together in your garage. But this is still a video game and the time investment in skilling various perks up should reflect an appropriate reward system.

So RNG would give a feel of how well I crafted the item. I like the RNG; To me there's no way we could reasonably and reliably produce -exactly- the same item, with the same quality and statistics irl; So it makes sense to me that it doesn't in game.It does have its ups and downs, literally- But that means you're always potentially going to find or craft something great.
